Thoughts
I am passionately committed to politics and public policies in pursuit of human rights and social and economic justice. I adhere to a feminist theory grounded in the understanding that much of the world's injustice is embedded in social relations that have for too long tolerated opprdiscrimination against women.

As Eleanor Roosevelt observed many years ago, education in the habits of good citizenship must begin close to home . We can only hope to build a universal culture of respect for human rights and democratic participation if we first guarantee the equal participation of men and women in all societies. As Mrs. Roosevelt also understood, however, the subordination of women is often the result of conditions of economic, social and political instability that must always be our larger concern if we hope to achieve progress.

Philanthropy focused on women's rights is my particular interest but always within this larger frame.
