Biography
Pamela Meyer is CEO of Simpatico Networks, a New York based provider of 18 niche- based online social networks. Simpatico Networks is one of many ventures incubated by Ms Meyer’s Manhattan Studios, a media , finance and consulting company that was launched in 1995 in association with Prodigy Services Corp. Manhattan Studios has incubated, and spun out many media ventures including Faith Online Inc. which oversees the Internet’s most comprehensive resource on spirituality: Faith.com and its network of 8 websites.
Ms Meyer has over 20 years of experience managing media busiesses …from National Geographic Television where she oversaw the organization’s entry into new distribution and programming venues….to Electronic Arts where she established the industry’s first Edutainment Studio that worked with a number of maverick videogame producers and distributors to create landmark interactive entertainment that was educational and targeted towards women. Prior to that, she worked for many years in the feature film business as Managing Director, International Feature Films at Vestron. She also has a long history of involvement in media equity and access issues, first as the founder of the California Community TV Network, a network of full service non-commercial TV stations programmed by and for low income residents, and more recently as Director of Media, Arts and Culture at the Ford Foundation where she managed the Foundation’s $40,000,000 fund responsible for philanthropic investments in arts and media content, cultural institutions, infrastructure and public policy. She holds an MBA from Harvard, and a Masters in Public Policy from Claremont Graduate School, which she attended as a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs. |
