Steve Denne
Vice President, Development Project Leader, Strategic Fundraising Initiative Development Department, National Headquarters Steve’s twenty-four year career in the American Red Cross began at the Columbus Area Chapter and has spanned a diverse set of national-level positions. Since joining the Development Department in February 2003, he has integrated national headquarters donor research, donor database management, contributions processing, foundation and government grants support, and recognition and stewardship functions into a single unit called Development Operations. In May 2004, Steve also assumed responsibility for the Direct Response group, which includes online, telemarketing and direct mail fundraising. In calendar year 2005, Development Operations processed more than 6.5 million gifts and the Direct Response group generated approximately $1 billion of the $2.5 billion raised for the Red Cross Tsunami and Katrina relief efforts. Steve helped lead or participated in many American Red Cross organizational change initiatives. These include the Service Delivery for the 21st Century Strategic Plan and Implementation (1989-92), Biomedical Transformation (1993-94), AFES Modernization (1994-95) and the growth strategy and redesign of Health and Safety programs (2000-03). Steve has a B.A. in Economics and English from Denison University (Ohio), and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. |
