Biography
Terry lives in New York City with her husband John, five cats and an African Gray parrot named Tarzan. In addition to her longstanding interest in the environment, Terry also lends her considerable skills to benefit higher education as a trustee of her alma mater, Boston University. At home in New York, the plight of hungry and homeless men, women and families inspired her to work with Coalition for the Homeless. Terry was among the founders of The School for Field Studies twenty-five years ago and is the Chair of the SFS Board of Trustees. She is a champion of the SFS educational model which brings students together with resource dependent communities around the world to collaborate on solving the critical environmental problems they face. Terry is committed to experiential education, foreign experiences for young people, sound urban housing policy, and the sane, humane conduct of U.S foreign policy.
