Thoughts
The major problems facing the world include, (1) the gap between the rich and the poor, (2) the pressures resulting from the growing population and (3) the failures of leadership. Leadership failure has condemned poor countries to remain poor and rich countries to squander their resources and credibility through wars and failure to face up to the consequences of population pressure such as global warming and violence.

The first two problems require the involvement of everyone and nonprofits allow every individual to contribute to solutions. The third problem, failure of leadership requires leaders to be accountable and individuals to exercise their freedom to select leaders with a moral compass.
