Biography Robert (Bob) Forney is a founder and President and CEO of The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN), an international organization that works collaboratively to reduce world hunger by securing more food and enhancing ability to efficiently distribute food through food banks and food bank networks around the globe. Previously, Bob was President and CEO of Americaâ€™s Second Harvest-The Nationâ€™s Food Bank Network (A2H). A2H is a national network of more than 200 regional food banks and food-rescue organizations that provide more than 2.2 billion pounds of food and grocery products to 50,000 local charitable agencies that operate more than 94,000 food programs including food pantries, soup kitchens, Kids Cafes and Community Kitchens. This charitable feeding network provides food assistance to more than 25 million hungry Americans each year.
Mr. Forney was President and CEO of the Chicago Stock Exchange Inc. (Exchange) one of the most technologically advanced stock exchanges in the world. Mr. Forney repositioned the Exchange to become a highly successful specialist-based auction market and the first Exchange to also be a large NASDAQ dealer market participant. During his six-year tenure, the Exchange enjoyed the lowest trading costs in the industry, a compound growth rate of 86% and increased Member and Exchange profits.
Mr. Forney served four years as a public (non-industry) Board member of the Exchange. His background includes being a partner at KPMG, and Senior Vice President at Bricker Consulting with responsibility for the development of information technology software products and the execution of client engagements.
Mr. Forney has a BS and MBA in accounting and finance from Indiana University. He is also a CPA. His service to the securities industry and to his community has been recognized by Security Traders Association, Securities Industry Association, Wall Street Project and Rainbow PUSH for lifetime service. He has been recognized as 4H Alumni of the Year and has received the Good Scout Award from the Boy Scouts. He is the founding Chairman of the U.S. Alliance to End Hunger that has both a U.S. and international hunger focus and Congressional Hunger Center trustee. He was feted by St. Ignatius College Prep for his service to mankind with the Dei Gloriam Award.
Bob and his wife, Nancy, have a son, Rob who is attending Georgetown. They enjoy volunteering at their church and in their community, traveling, hiking, and boating.
