I co-founded the Partnership in early 2000 out of concern that the U.S. response to rising hunger and poverty in Africa was inadequate. The Partnership is an research and advocacy organization working to increase the level and effectiveness of assistance and private investment in African agriculture. I believe this is fundamental to a serious effort to combat hunger and help millions of rural Africans lift themselves out of poverty.
