Problem

Children in Sub-Saharan Africa, who contracted AIDS from their infected mothers in infancy, need anti-retroviral medicine in order to life full lives. Without access to anti-retroviral drugs to control the virus, fifty percent of the children will die before their second birthday and 75% will not see their fifth birthday.

Sadly, only 7% of the children who need the medication currently receive it.

The Gift

Your life saving gift of $1 will provide a day's supply of anti-retroviral medication, as well as medicine to fight opportunistic infections to an HIV+ child, their HIV+ guardian or an HIV+ pregnant woman in Kenya, Uganda or Zimbabwe. Pre- and post-testing counseling is also given to everyone in our programs...no one should journey through this pandemic alone!

We believe that we should act on three fronts: caring for children already infected, caring for their guardians so that more children do not become orphaned and caring for the unborn, giving them a chance to be born virus-free.
