Problem

Thousands of people affected by AIDS are not able to access decent care because they live too far from hospitals with the medical supplies and equipment to treat patients.

Imagine walking for two days, with a fever, malnourished, tired and sick, only to find out that there is neither room nor medicine available at your "local" clinic. People must travel for many days to a large city in order to be treated in a hospital, knowing that only there do they have a chance at being helped.

The Gift

This gift will provide new, sterilized medical supplies and equipment to rural hospitals in Uganda. Thousands of HIV+ children and adults will receive medical care with supplies which are clean and which will not cause further infections. Walkers, wheelchairs, beds, linens, surgical supplies, sutures, needles, bandages, etc, are some of the items AFCA sends to hospitals caring for sick and hurting people in Uganda.
