At least one-third of 6,000 known amphibian species worldwide are threatened with extinction from causes such as habitat loss, water pollution, and the deadly Chyrid Fungus. Our researchers are striving to find a cure for this devastating fungal disease.

Your gift will provide support to our ongoing research and long-term commitment to amphibian conservation. At the San Diego Zoo we care for more than 280 amphibians of 27 different species. Caring for colonies of amphibians in zoos is essential if species are to survive until they can be returned to safe environments.
