As New York City struggles to do more with less, volunteers play a critical role in maintaining public parks and gardens. You can help New York Cares purchase supplies for Hands On New York Day, one of our citywide days of service, to keep our public spaces well tended for all New Yorkers to enjoy by sponsoring one or more of the items below.

The Gift

Trees need mulch to get nutrients and retain moisture. Volunteers will spread mulch so trees can grow to clean the air and provide shade. This kit includes mulch for one tree, a wheelbarrow, a pitchfork, and a shovel.
