Problem
Many babies in orphanages spend the vast majority of their day, often 23 hours or more, lying in a crib staring at the ceiling or their hands. Babies need to be able to look around and see their world for proper development. Most orphanages do not have the equipment needed to allow a child a chance to get out of their crib and sit safe and secure.
The Gift
LWB provides orphanages in China with Bebepod seats. These special infant seats, which are pediatrician-approved, provide optimal support in helping a baby 3-12 months old learn to sit. When a baby is given the chance to get out of their crib, they become more and more aware of their surroundings. We recently sent an order of these seats to several orphanages in China, and immediately the staff members wrote us and asked for more. They told us that the babies loved being up and being able to sit across from each other face to face. Purchasing one of these infant seats for an orphaned children in China will allow them to better explore their environment and interact with others, essential parts of normal child development.
