Autism impacts more than 64 million people; in California, someone is diagnosed every 12 minutes; Special Needs Network has been on the forefront of assisting families impacted by this incurable disorder, and is proud of its accomplishments which include providing much needed advocacy training and resources to more than 10,000 county residents, many of whom live at, or below the poverty line

The Gift

Your gift will help provide policy and organizational advocacy training to parent leaders. Participants are provided an opportunity to meet face-to-face with those leaders who are shaping policies which impact them, their loved ones and their communities. After a series of presentations, participants are given an opportunity to ask questions and to provide comments. This event provides an opportunity to engage their elected officials and to influence legislative decisions that impact their communities. Participants are given training on how to organize letter writing campaigns, how to present at public hearings and how to initiate legislation.
