Problem

Our challenge at hand is to equip Iraqi youth with coping mechanisms for the post traumatic stresses of war. The emotional impacts of war will be life altering for Iraqi children. Memories of violence do not go away unless they are safely explored, expressed, and understood.

The Gift

Children are naturally creative, and creativity brings forth hope and comfort. Your donation will allow Generation Iraq to develop an art therapy workbook as a tool to assist children in coping. Under the guidance of a Registered Art Therapist, the workbook would teach educators of Iraq how to dialogue with an image to open communication with Iraqi youth. The worklbook will provide an emotional safe place to rest and assure the children of Iraq that they are loved and valued.
