Problem

The current conflict in the Darfur region—one of the world’s most lethal humanitarian crises—has displaced 1.9 million and killed more than 200,000. Women and children make up 80 percent of the displaced.

Women risk their lives conducting daily chores such as collecting firewood. Young girls have lost access to formal education.

The Gift

Relief International's solution to the crisis in Darfur emphasizes women's development in particular. School empowers girls in Darfur by increasing their economic and leadership status, improving their health and reducing their risk for poverty and physical harm.

$15 provides tuition and school supplies for one girl, between the ages of 7-15, to attend one year of basic schooling.
