Artists often dream of being able to connect with that one person who can help them take their career to the next level: the curator who can give a visual artist their first solo show, the theatrical manager who can send a choreographer’s company on a national tour, or the film distributor who can get a filmmaker shown on PBS or HBO. For most artists this will always remain a dream.

The Gift

Your gift will send an artist to “Camp Creative Capital" for one night out of four, where they will have the opportunity to meet with leading curators, presenters, and critics from across the country. Our Artist Retreats, often fondly referred to as “boot camp" by the participants, are four-day extravaganzas of learning, networking, connecting, and celebrating the art itself. Creative Capital regularly brings in 60 to 80 arts professionals from all over the country, and even internationally, to be introduced to the work of our artists. The Artist Retreat not only helps the artists connect with each other and view one another as resources, but it also gives them access to people who can provide them with opportunities well into the future.
