Problem

Good hygiene is the basis for good health. Yet even this most basic necessity is a struggle for many poor Peruvian families without access to clean water, soap for bathing, and dental care. Clean skin protects against bacterial and fungal skin infections common in Peru's tropical climate, and good dental care is essential for preventing gum infections, tooth abscesses and potentially life-threatening infections of the bloodstream and heart valves.
