Problem

Over 90 percent of the world's hungry are prisoners of poverty. They are too poor to buy enough food. They spend all of their time and energy trying to survive. The World Food Program funds a variety of innovative projects to help put food on the tables of the weakest and poorest: jobless mothers, school children, landless farmers and HIV orphans. WFP also helps the hungry to secure food and an income by themselves, so they can break out of the poverty trap and build a sustainable future.

The Gift

Your $10 gift will feed one person in need for a month. For the hungry, every day is about finding enough food to simply survive. This prevents these individuals from pursuing any other opportunities for self-sufficiency. Your donation will grant an individual 30 opportune days to establish employment without the distraction of having to look for his or her next meal. The financial stability resulting from this respite has the potential to positively impact the individual and his or her family for years to come.
