Problem
Many community-based HIV/AIDS organizations need help in using the law to fight discrimination and other human rights abuses related to HIV — the fight against AIDS includes litigation, legislative reform and human rights analysis. But while some good practices have been documented, law- and policy-makers and front-line workers in affected communities often need to ask questions and understand how to adapt other people's relevant experiences to their own circumstances.
The Gift
The Legal Network responds to requests from organizations around the world for technical support on a wide range of legal and human rights issues related to HIV/AIDS. Your gift can help us conduct much sought-after, in-person workshops in countries with emerging HIV/AIDS organizations, such as in China and countries of the former Soviet Union; or, it can strengthen already-established, long-term partnerships, such as those we have with organizations in Africa. Ultimately, whether on the ground or remotely by e-mail or telephone, your gift can help us share our human rights knowledge and legal expertise with people in places where it's needed the most.
