Human rights groups are often marginalized and isolated, unable to overcome the communications barriers imposed on them by government-controlled media or other conditions that cut them off from attention and support. WITNESS helps these courageous individuals bring their stories to people with the power to end the silence and make a difference knowing that, for many people, seeing is believing.

The Gift

WITNESS provides access to the Internet and other tools to empower local groups to attract global attention and support. The online "Rights Alert" video campaign is one such tool.
