Overview
We are an international medical pediatric 501(c)(3) organization. We specialize in bringing teaching surgical teams into countries to enhance their current healthcare systems in situ bringing a more lasting benefit to the local populace. To date, we have touched the lives and bodies of thousands of children worldwide. A few cases are brought to the USA each year as teaching cases. A select number of healthcare professionals are brought to the States to learn specific procedures to take back to their home countries to implement. One of the outstanding attributes of CCCI is that we have a 100% success rate in RETURNING all foreign nationals to their home countries--something that all governments want to see. Because of this, some countries will work with us when they will not work with other organizations. We also have better success with our own Homeland Security in getting medical visas!
Mission
To bring life-changing medical care into the countries we visit and leave a last legacy wherever we go.
History
Founded in 1984, the organization today reaches worldwide from its start in El Salvador. From the eyes of the adoptive parents of a baby girl in a teeming orphanage came the dream to make the lives of children the world over healthier and more productive. Literally thousands of children's lives have been touched by CCCI's volunteers over the years as doctors and nurses have treated, taught, and loved each and every one of their patients. Also, they have taught their colleagues in the countries visited thus extending the influence of their visits many times over to patients they never saw or will see. To date, we have built hospitals, opened a living donor transplant unit, founded orphanage for HIV/AIDS survivor families, and continue our work in medical education and outreach. It is exciting, challenging work-yet we never tire of it-the smiles of the liltle ones keep us going.
