Overview
Volunteers giving of their time, abilities and funds to build homes for poor and destitute families in the Tijuana area of Mexico.
Our current project is to build, staff, manage and run a new children's home (orphanage) providing a true hope for the future of Baja California's forgotten and abandoned children (currently underway on our 5 acre ranch in Mexico!).
All work is done by volunteers on our monthly building trips that depart from the S.F. Bay area.
Mission
Provide a hope and a future for Mexico's abandoned and forgotten children.
History
Started in 2002, Casabuilders has been building homes and churches in the Tijuana area of Mexico. We build a 16x20 foot home for a needy family in 2 days- complete with windows, electrical, sheetrock, 2 small bedrooms and a locking front door.
Program
Monthly building trips to Mexico allowing volunteers to help us build homes, churches and now a children's home (which Casabuilders will staff, manage, and operate).
Impact
Since it's beginning in 2002, Casabuilders has built close to 100 homes, 3 churches, ministered to poor and destitute families, as well as to overlooked children in some orphanages in the area.
Goals This Year
Casabuilders is committed to complete the Visitor's Compound on the Mi Casa Children's Home site. Our goal is to celebrate our 1st Christmas with Mexican friends and their families.
This will make way for us to start our Orphanage project in 2010!
