Overview

Somewhere in the world, woman dies every minute in childbirth, mostly from preventable causes. That is half a million mothers each year. Ten million more suffer devastating illnesses and complications every year that are also largely preventable. The Liya Kebede Foundation works to raise awareness about this issue and to fund the programs that save lives.

Mission

The mission of the Liya Kebede Foundation is to reduce maternal, newborn and child deaths and to improve the health and well-being of women and children worldwide.
