Celebrating Readers, Writers, and their Books!!
The Louisiana Book Festival is established to promote reading and encourage learning by showcasing the accomplishments of writers and others engaged in the creation and promotion of books. Admission is FREE and open to the public.
Over 100 authors from Louisiana and throughout the United States present book talks or participate in panel discussions; and an abundance of book-related activities; demonstrations, performances, and exhibits
The event takes place in Downtown Baton Rouge at the State Library of Louisiana, LA State Capitol, and LA State Museum, North 4th Street and Spanish Town Road
Volunteer opportunities include:
Welcoming and Assisting Festival Guests; Escorting Authors and Monitoring Rooms/Programs; Maintaining Authors' Book Signing Tent; Working with children in the Young Readers Pavilion with face painting, arts and crafts, storytelling; Selling refreshments and Book Festival Merchandise

Volunteers are needed from all over Louisiana and surrounding states. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older; 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
