Description:

INTHEFRAY Magazine (http://inthefray.org), an award-winning international publication that seeks to question, inform, and inspire conversations about identity and community, is looking for an editor for our newest department, the Activist?s Corner, which features interviews with grassroots activists concerning the state of affairs in their corner of the world and ways that busy people can make a difference in their communities. Our organization is nonprofit and run by an all-volunteer staff, so there is only a very tiny honorarium for this position (payable every six months), but it is a chance to interact with activists from all walks of life, learn about online publishing, and work with bright, energetic writers and editors. We are looking for a talented writer and editor to seek out possible interviewees, assign interviewers and arrange interviews, and edit one interview of about 1500 words or less each month for publication. We seek someone who can commit to working with us for at least six months for about five hours each month. All work can be done from your home, as you will communicate with other editors and writers primarily through e-mail and the phone. (Though we do not have an office, many of our staff live in New York City, and get together every few months.)
