Our Ally Action eTeam can use your talents! We’re looking for volunteer Ally Action eTeam members who want to be involved in continuing to develop our website into a dynamic hands-on resource for safe schools advocates in the trenches. You’ll be part of a small but dedicated group of individuals who make sure that pages and resources on our site are fresh and interesting.
Time:
• Approximately 10 hrs/month and/or 2.5 hrs/week
• One of the other unique aspects of the Ally Action eTeam is that you aren't required to attend any meetings! Most of the eTeam’s work is done by individuals during the hours which suit them – whether it’s 2pm or 2am. Our communication and work is conducted via email.
What we’re looking for:
People who want to:
• Identify and/or develop new safe schools resources (posters, articles, books, films, curriculum, how-to models)
• Monitor fresh safe schools/LGBTQ news stories and current events
• Contribute new and strategic safer schools content to the website
• Write articles, reviews, blogs and opinion pieces — flair for writing and research a plus!
• Help coordinate Take Action e-alerts, including writing letters to the editor and editorials, contacting key decision-makers, and/or Sending People to the Principal’s Office
• Create and/or solicit photos, photo-stories and video clips
• Design and implement strategic new multimedia content such as video clips, music, and Flash-driven resources and functions
People who are:
• Passionate about ending anti-LGBTQ bias and violence in our schools
• Able to use email and basic Microsoft Word skills for developing website content
• Able to regularly communicate via email with our Communications Coordinator and login to the Ally Action eTeam admin area of our website
• Enthusiastic representatives of Ally Action’s membership
You need not be a web expert to join!
And, if you already have expertise in website creation or computer graphics, we think you’ll find joining the Ally Action eTeam a very satisfying way to apply your talents!
