Water for Waslala (WfW) program (http://www.waterforwaslala.org) seeks a volunteer international development project manager/fundraiser to raise awareness and funds to combat the water crisis affecting over 30,000 residents in Waslala, Nicaragua. This is a full-time twelve-month volunteer position beginning in July 2007 and ending June 2008. Candidate will spend year in Chicago, New York or Boston, speaking in high schools, colleges and parishes about water crisis in Nicaragua, organizing fundraisers, publishing articles in local newspapers and planning local fundraising events. Candidate expected to raise $50,000 to help build 4 new water systems in Nicaragua, which will benefit nearly 1,000 poor Waslalans for a lifetime. Strong organizational skills, good public speaking skills, the ability to work independently, comfortability using Microsoft Office, and comfortability working alone are necessary. Learn more: |
