"Amazon Voyage - Vicious Fishes and Other Riches" is a traveling exhibit from the Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium to be at The Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia from June 2nd to December 31st, 2007. It explores the biodiversity, field research, resource management and the ways people celebrate the Amazon River. This exhibit takes visitors to seven ports of call along the most biologically diverse river in the world. Volunteers serve as informal guides to help visitors as they encounter amazing creatures, including notorious piranhas, enormous anacondas, beautiful stingrays and mysterious pink dolphins. Volunteers also help visitors explore the region's incredible biodiversity, encounter field researchers making new discoveries and participate in a celebration of the Amazon River. Learn more: |
