Outreach VISTA
The Philadelphia Development Partnership (PDP) is a private nonprofit organization providing a comprehensive array of loan products and business services, including technical assistance and training, to more than 300 individuals annually to assist them to start –up, stabilize or expand their businesses in the greater Philadelphia region.

The PDP Outreach & Data Tracking VISTA will raise awareness of PDP’s programs with a strong emphasis on PDP’s lending program as well as leverage and maintain PDP’s new data tracking system to measure and report outcomes and impacts.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a flexible, highly detailed and organized individual with excellent personal communication skills who can function comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Outreach & Data Tracking VISTA will have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to:
o Create and regularly present a brief program orientation;
o Develop brochures and literature to increase awareness of the PDP lending program;
o Attend small business and networking events;
o Create client stories for the PDP biannual newsletter;
o Recruit interested business owners to attend program orientations;
o Conduct outreach at small business fairs, outdoor market events, and vendor events;
o Contact and meet with local nonprofit organizations to inform them of PDP’s microloan programs and place flyers.
o Support program staff in data collection and management;

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
The successful VISTA candidate will possess the following qualifications:
o B.A. degree;
o Demonstrated interest in microfinance;
o Interest in working with underserved populations;
o Abilities in Statistics and Finance preferred, but not required;
o Proficiency in MS Office Suite;
o Prior experience in data collection/management;
o Fluency in Spanish preferred, but not required;

COMPENSATION:
Vista volunteers are paid a $900/mo stipend with a $4,750 educational award given at the completion of service. Health insurance, a relocation allowance, and a monthly transportation pass (worth $70/mo) will be provided.
