BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Are you proactive, visionary, and interested in advancing social change? If you are, there is a place at the table for you with the Portland Women's Crisis Line (PWCL), a pioneering feminist organization seeking new members for the all-volunteer Board of Directors. This community resource agency, more than 30 years strong, provides services for domestic violence and sexual assault. Board members, who will be elected in June, will shape the agency's development and continued growth, oversee the Executive Director, and monitor the PWCL plan. All sexes, ages, ethnicities and professional backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We actively seek those who are knowledgeable in advocacy, accounting, finance, human resources, fundraising and development, and with a passion for human/social services. Experience in the domestic violence/sexual assault movement is preferred but not required (training is available). PWCL is committed to ending domestic violence by providing confidential support services and education to empower our community. To get an application and more details, please email info@pwcl.org. Board members are elected for either one or two year terms. The Board of Directors typically meets once a month for approximately two hours. Board members are also required to participate on board committees. The total time commitment varies dependent on the member's availability (elected officials: the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer generally put in more hours than do other members).

DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The time commitment for the FC is approximately 5 hours/month. The FC typically meets one to two times a month for approximately 1 hour at a time, arranged by the members. Contacts via e-mail/phone and individual work may also occur. Additional time may be necessary during special events.

The FC plans and coordinates fundraising activities such as:

* the annual mail solicitation
* special events and other activities as agreed upon by the committee
