The Gulf Coast Conservation Corps is a project of The Corps Network, a non-profit organization representing service and conservation Corps nationwide. The Gulf Coast Conservation Corps began as an opportunity for Corps programs to travel to the Gulf Coast to engage in service, and is becoming a permanent and self-sufficient non-profit Conservation Corps. The Gulf Coast Conservation Corps is a job training, employment, and education program providing community and environmental service modeled after the Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930s. The program integrates challenge, education, civic engagement, and hard work into an experience that stresses responsibility, pride, teamwork, and stewardship of community and natural resources. The Gulf Coast Conservation Corps is seeking applicants for Corpsmembers.

Summary
The Corpsmember is an AmeriCorps member whose primary duties include working as part of a crew, under the supervision of two Crew Leaders to complete conservation and community service projects. The Corpsmember will participate in service activities as well as activities designed to develop job and life skills. The Corpsmember will adhere to all policies and procedures of the Corps. Corpsmembers earn a living stipend of $250 a week and an AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,250 upon completion of their term of service.
Essential Job Duties
The Corpsmember will participate as part of a crew of 8 members and two Crew Leaders, in a residential work session. The position requirements include:
• Accomplish goals for service projects set by the Crew Leader and project sponsor
• Maintain a strong work ethic and safe work habits
• Complete and submit required reports and paperwork in a timely manner
• Attend and assist in all crew functions and events
• Promote a positive image of oneself, crew, and the Corps
• Participate in leadership and job skill development activities
Qualifications
• Ages 18-24
• Available for 3 month program
• Able to perform heavy physical labor
• Willing to participate as a member of a team
• Readiness to perform manual labor and work hard
